A fine example of the gold SS runic breast insignia, complete with its original retailer’s packet from Ernst Frenzel, Berlin C2, a well-known supplier of military insignia and effects during the period. Constructed from gold-colored bullion wire embroidery on a dark field-grey wool backing, this insignia displays excellent detail and craftsmanship.
This pattern was worn on the lower left breast pocket by Waffen-SS personnel who were not authorized to wear the standard SS runic collar tab. A highly desirable insignia, particularly when found together with its original sales packet.
Condition: Very fine overall condition with minimal signs of age or handling. The insignia retains excellent detail and presentation. The packet remains well preserved.
